Chef Lagenda, Flemington
Flemington, 3031 (03) 9376 2668
We’ve always been a fan of Laksa King, and after we heard about Chef Lagenda, we were keen on going there.
We went there for dinner, place is much smaller compared to the new Laksa King but still ample seating.
Food wise, ordered the Roti Chicken Roll ($11.20) , Curry Laksa ($9.20), Fried Kuey Teow ($10.20) and the Pork Trotter w/ Red Bean Paste ($9.90).
The Roti Chicken Roll was just okay, as you can see from the photo, it lacked chicken and needed more sauce – I prefer the one at Laksa King for this.
The Curry Laksa was good, the Fried Kuey Teow was good as well, i liked that it has the char-burned taste to it which tends to be lacking in this dish in Melbourne.
However, the Pork Trotters were disappointing, it was chewy and difficult to eat, it wasn’t tender and probably wasn’t cooked enough.
Overall, still good Malaysian food but not sure if I will be returning, might still stick to Laksa King for now.
Rating:
★ relatively good, still worth a try
$$ $15-25 per main
